The Earl Munson Home This 18th century house is situated on the west side of Main Street near the corner of School Street. The old records show the land on which was purchased on May 12, 1769, from John Deming by Phillip Pond Sr. The house was built between 1769 and 1776 by Phillp Pond Sr. who later died that April. Abiel Linsley purchased the home from the heirs of Phillip. The house is well Preserved and is naturally situated back from the road with a sweeping front lawn. It's a white clap boarded house with two chimneys. The front entrance opens into a reception hall from which the stairs will ascend to the second floor. The present living room is at the back of the house and is composed of what was formerly the early kitchen and old sink room. There are two fireplaces in each chimney and in the large fireplace it has a Dutch oven. To the right of the hall is the dining room with fireplace, and a borning room, now made into a kitchen. A smaller front room is to the left of the hall. The entire house is furnished with interesting and appropriate antiques.
